Call me old school, but I miss the days of the sitcoms which could help shape your view of the world in a positive way. For example, the game shows such as "Deal or No Deal" which I like may be telling us that hey its all about that dollar. Or the reality shows, especially the ones on cable, really go over the edge with the types of abominable subject matter that the young ones are exposed to. I like some of them fuh sho but our kids are exposed to grown folks stuff.

I haven't written in a while so bare with a bruh until I can get my mojo back. Anyway, I think you'll be able to feel me.

Nevertheless, shows like "A Different World", "Growing Pains", or "Family Ties" helped me to want a good life and inspired me to go to college because I wanted to experience what I saw on the tube. It's just like the issues I have with music. So I guess is an issue of the mass media. I feel like I sound like one of the elders that opposed my music and choice of shows. Nevertheless, as we approach and embrace this "brave new world" our children are zoning out in classes and processing all this decadence.

I don't know. SHIT! I just wanted to get my juices flowing again before I start on my book. I have a long ways to go given my lack of writing and lack of creative initiative. Recently I started a drawing which expounds upon and idea that has been in my mind for years. To see it, gives that feeling of giving birth to something. And I like the feeling. My job as a case worker is stressful. My lady is going through major drama with work and her children's father and I have no way to vent but by re-engaging into the arts. I've recently regained my drive and motivation. It's crazy because I allowed one of my clients to steal my energy. As a matter of fact this will be my next topic, This mother(who is fucked up) and her fucked up kids. I know it sounds fucked up but you'll get the picture when I touch the topic.

Hip Hop in 06

Quick question... In a year when many classic acts are rumored to be on the return, how in the hell can Dro, Joc, and Jibbs be the hot releases of the summer? See, I remember the summer of 96 when Outkasts' "Atliens", De La Soul's "Stakes is High", Heltah Skeltah's "Nocturnal", Tribe Called Quest's "Beats, Rhymes, and Life", and Nas' "It was Written all dropped". I just want to know why the music industry is so biased against good music. Well, we all have a good idea; but the listeners who like the less creative music need to be blamed because the industry caters to what is mainstream. And that big dude they call Shaq returned EAST to bring it. But I ain't really a Shaq fan. D-Wade that's my nukka. But its going to be a couple of years before he or Bron-Bron will dethrone Kobe. Kobe is still the best in the league (all around) and any true baller or student of the game knows this. Yo, any fan that keeps up with highschool, college, and pro levels has to be happy to see Derek Anderson, Jason Williams, Antwan Walker, Alonzo Mourning, James Posey, and Gary Payton get those rings. Now, that's what's up.

And why did Shaq just totally diss and fail to acknowledge Phil Jackson on nationally T.V. Before there was Phil there was Pat Riley with the great Laker teams of the 80's and Magic, Byron Scott, and all them guys but c'mon Shaq, you were just mad that Kobe was better than you. And you will never ever come close to the greatness of Hakeem "the dream" Olojuwan despite your 5 rings, so your cashmere thoughts of being mentioned in the same breath as Bill Russell, mayne gone head with that hogwash.

I have to admit that it brings music to my ears everytime I ponder the championship being back in the EAST. However, I respect game and T.O. is a phenomenal football player. He is a Jerry Rice/Michael Irvin/Tony Gonzales type receiver. The guy blocks, has speed and great hands, and plays with heart. The irony in the situation rest with the past Dallas emblem antic which transpired when he was with San Fran.....but he apologized years ago and is quickly gaining the favor of his new fans. I think T.O. will do some big things with Dallas and it doesn't hurt that Drew Bledsoe will be pitching to him. I will bet 500 dollars right now that this guy does more than surprise everyone....sheeyat...iz u crazy? Not after the way he snubbed the Ravens. I won't say he snubbed the Eagles, the media hurt his image on that one. I mean of course he did some wack ish but he was ridden too hard for that. Today's post is dedicated to recent struggles I'm having regarding life decisions. I have been able to transition out of the human services field successfully and am now determined to take my plight to another level. I'm ready to bust my ass and go for what I want and not be afraid to take the necessary risk. I have credentials and I have some connections. I write, sing, rhyme and have done a little acting before. And I have connections in each of those areas. I'm having a problem deciding which of these things I'm the best at right now so that I may be able to focus and perfect that talent. This is not to say that I don't want to perfect all of these talents but right now I am struggling mightily with the process. I'm 28 which means that I am still young but then again time waits on no man. And I got so many bills..bills...bills.....bills. I work a lot and will soon be working more thus a lot less time will be dedicated to working on perfecting whichever craft I deem the most sharpened. I'm proud because in the mist of all this, I've managed to lay down two new songs. Although still untitled, they are formiddable tracks. But anyway, I think that I may have to stop smoking cigarettes in order to help me save more scrilla. Its a shame that I don't contemplate quitting for health reasons because, after all, I'm am a health fanatic. But anyway, that's about all for now. I just wanted to get some ish off my chest.

To everyone out there...STAY UP and if you're a hater stop hating.

R.I.P. I've been a Therapeutic Mentor, Youth Counselor, Special Education Teacher, and Clinical Resident Counselor. However, I've become extremely burnt out with the field and have come to the conclusion that it's time that I help myself. And then maybe, if I put myself in the position I can help society a little bit in the way that I would like to. I've been bitten, cursed out, spit on and all that shit. I didn't spend all that time in a difficult undergraduate environment such as UVA to make kibbles or to even be restrained within one specific field. No definition or career path can hold me. I'm too dynamic for that and I know many of you who may read this feel the same about yourself as opposed to going the route that someone else thinks that one should. Nevertheless, I'm just stating the fact that things just got a little better for me and although I'm still not doing exactly what I like I'm on my way to autonomy. I'm working two jobs now and very soon will be putting in about 71 hours a week but for me and my goals and not dealing with the bad assed kids out here who hate male authority figures because they never had that or a solid foundation. Hence, a part of the benefits with one of my jobs with US Airways is free flights to anywhere in the world that they serve...not only for me but for anyone in my immediate fam. So I feel very blessed right now especially after being robbed at gunpoint just a couple of nights ago. So I say to everyone, if you are going through some things or have faced a really trying situation recently ....have faith and hope that it'll get better. I was once told that we are always approaching the storm, going through the storm, or coming out of the storm......So take it from me HOLD YOUR HEAD. Dayum! Why did I get robbed at gunpoint last night? At least I'm alive and unharmed right. It was only 28 bucks...fuck it. But do I blame that lazy bastards mentality or do I blame society's ill's for his misfortune? Bottom line, there are trifling folks everywhere who feel they have nothing to lose. I can live with that. That's the way of the world. I still didn't need a gun to protect myself though. That was one lesson out of it I guess. That leads me to this question. We need to step it up and take the reigns...for the struggle continues.

Git Up, Git Out and Git Sumthin Because Ol' Boy Ain't Make it No Easier

Something Dick Gregory hipped me to....of course Nostradamus wasn't correct about everything but this one he hit on the head.

Nostradamus Predicted Bush Victory

"Come the millenium, month twelve, In the home of the greatest power, The village idiot will come forth To be acclaimed the leader."
--Nostradamus 1555 AD

A Favorite quote via William Jennings Bryan:

"Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved."

Twice Forgotten

One thing that the southeast Asian tsunami and the hurricanes that hit the southern United States has shown Eye is that if the media is not talking about it or if "whatever the current event is" is not spoon fed to us then we forget about it or choose not to explore it.

This is very, very sad. A great friend of Eye's hipped I to this info. She and I always discuss things on many levels and we were already in the mindset that the events surrounding the storms last year were extrememly fishy(no pun intended).

Nevertheless, herein lies something important to think about...while you seek that American dream. Keep in mind that while you seek that American dream...someone must be forced to experience the nightmare. By the way, fuck you and your high post bourgeosie ways and the fact that you've forgotten where you're from. While ignorant greed carries you...folks like Eye gonna keep walking through the darkness carrying I torches....for-I-ver...like roaches, never dying...always living.

Article: http://la.indymedia.org/news/2005/09/135069.php

"The 17th street levee was bombed by the Army Corps of Engineers to save the more valuable real estate in the city... to keep the French Quarter protected, the ninth ward was sacrificed... people are afraid to speak out... everyone who was near there heard the bombings... they bombed seven times. They let the parishes go, not the city center. Tourist trap was saved over human life. "

That sounds like tinfoil-hat material, right? "The state" is composed of the courts, prisons, schools, universities, armed services and police units. A lot of us want to blame the perils we face in this society on the state. I do find it ironic that the entity which imprisons physical bodies and calls others terrorists while committing terrible acts also imprisons the mind. Why is it that we have what you call smart dumb motherfuckers. You know the kind that have college degrees and masters and doctorates and all that. Or I could say dumb smart motherfuckers. I have a degree but I took John Henrik Clarke's message seriously when he said, "we went wrong by sending our kids to school without a nation mission." Nevertheless, I choose to blame things on THE STATE OF IGNORANCE and not "the state".

All of a sudden people were surprised as things began to hit home. Folks living in a fuckin fantasy and when someone trys to show the light, another rains on their shit like...."don't nobody wanna hear that positive shit" or that "spiritual shit". Aiight then dumb motherfucker with your credentials. We'll meet at the crossroads and you'll say sorry Eye or whatever you have known me as.

I'm just tired of and have a lack of tolerance for ignorance....

does anyone agree?

IN THESE TIMES.....................

Legendary Producer J-Dilla Passes

Some of you may know the name of Jay Dee or J-Dilla the former producer for Slum Village and contributor to many acts such as Kanye, ATCQ, Common and more. It's been since October that I have developed any kind of urge to do this blog thing. It's a new year and numerous changes for my life are underway. By the way, Happy New Year! Hopefully, 2006 will be prosperous for all of us and a less fatal than last year. I've also relinquished ill feelings towards my haters because, shit, I ain't perfect either. I mean I ain't no hater but I have hurt feelings before. I hope to work on these things in the 06. How about Kobe? Looks like somebody is not ready to hand over the reigns yet. Lebron is on his way though fo sho. Camron dissing Jigga. That's a joke. The nikkas album drops soon *record sales* Mary J Blige is as big as ever. Anyway, I'll be writing again soon.

Hater Proof

"Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death [actually stronger than death]; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame."

What's good? First of all, I just wanna give a shout out to all the one's that be trying to steal my light. I love your persistence and your wack sarcasm and your senseless cynicism. You think my motives are centered on shining. I don't have to attempt to shine. I shine regardless. I shine because I am a good person raised by good people. You are not a good person. You are a jealous hater. You are a cowardly jackal of babel. I think you wanna shine like me. And because you don't feel you can, you have to try and steal my shine. If your light is dim and mine is bright; you feel the need to steal my shine to build yourself up. That's no way to live. Nevertheless, you're wasting your time.

I see all of you who hope for my downfall. You not know me. Your vision can't receive the light proper ya see. In the same vein, I say Peace to all you haters that hate what I do and how I do it. I'm far from a negative person but I must let you know that I see you. I'm watching you show your colors. You may think you are above reproach but you're not. I know I'm not. And another thing that I'm not is a hater. The you that I am talking about knows who you are. Higher heights, inner heights, is what you should focus on instead of me. You have no honor. Hate on yourself for a change, not me; I shine and you CAN'T change that. If you know its not you and this didn't bother you; then cool. But if you are on some dumb shit, this post will bother you chump. And I expect to hear or see some slick talk from you....lol. Because you always do it, like I don't see it. You cannot destroy my character or image. Do you understand me?

Whether you are in the blogworld or real world; I must say that you know if this is directed to you. Like I said, I see all you. I know who genuinely fucks with me and those who don't. If you don't, think hard about why you don't. You probably don't stand on solid ground as to why, except that I could be better than you. And in that case its your ego problems that bother you because I don't carry myself that way kid.

...And if I die tonight...I vow to return as a BIRD so that I may fly around and defecate on you at will. Hence here is my gift to you whom embody hateration.....
And remember, keep shinin, wake up, stop hating on each other, and get up off that dumb shit! Just as in the last post when I spoke on the attempt to ERADICATE black culture in the NBA. This article shows how it all relates in the terms of culture. I don't know about you, but as a free spirit and conscious being; I'm tired of others telling us how we should dress, look, act, and talk just so we can improve the false image of a company that probably is detrimental to our communities in the long run. This kid Prodigal Child breaks this issue very articulately. This is a critical truth right here. If you can't see it, then PEE ON YOU. And if you're one that likes to disagree just for the sake of disagreeing while knowing that a truthful point has touched your senses but you don't want to admit it because it hurts to feel like you're living a lie, please don't leave dumb shit in my comments. Just remember, we've all been born into abomination and lies. So don't feel bad if you don't feel like you are where you should be consciously. NOW is always the RIGHT TIME. But remember, sometimes we have to unlearn EVERYTHING we've ever been taught to become conscious. And yo, The Chilren of di Most I shall recover their soul and their spirit. Keep Shinin! Stop hating on each other! Wake Up! And, Get up off that dumb shit! Paaaaaaayce

SLAVES TO MULTICULTURALISM?
by prodigal child

I spent this past Labor Day weekend at an African Arts & Culture fest on Chicago's Southside. It was 4 days of African and African-American culture — politics, music, dance, clothes, worship, food, art... It was peace 'n' luv like I hadn't seen in a long, long minute. Every tongue of the Diaspora was there — West Indies, Africans, Caribbean Islanders, southern black folk, you name it. It was 4 days of dialoging and sharing of our own cultural fruits with each other. The luv was thicker than the Shea Butter the cats from Mali were selling. It felt like family. But it also got me thinking about multiculturalism and hiphop.

Is the movement that's forcing black folks to embrace multiculturalism actually sacrificing black folks' culture?

You can't turn on the TV or open a book without hearing someone tout multiculturalism. There's multicultural stars like Tiger "Don't call me Black" Woods and Vin "All Of The Above" Diesel. MTV is eating big-time off the multiculti plate — even though they wouldn't play black artists at all in the early 80s. Clubs and radio station formats are multiculti. Fashion is multiculti. The whole world is turning beige.

I peeped a recent Donahue interview with Russell Simmons. Big Rush said whites and non-blacks purchase 80% of all hiphop albums. 80 percent. Add into the mix that some 40% of all hiphop gear like Russell's Phatfarm gear and Diddy's Sean John and Jigga's Rocawear threads. Combine that with the fact that black music (i.e. hiphop, soul, blues, R&B, gospel) black art, black fashion and black entertainment is run by primarily white-owned multinational conglomerates (i.e. Viacom, Universal, Sony, Nike, Disney, etc.) and you have the dynamic of a mostly white consumer-base dictating black culture to white manufacturers and marketers. That's "them" to talking to "them" about what they accept from "us".

I hit a few reggae spots recently and two-thirds of the crowd was Asian and white kids rockin' dreadlocks, drinkin' red stripes and doing their Bob Marley impression. I see the same deal in hiphop, jazz and blues spots all over the world. Remember rock 'n' roll before multiculturalism got hold of it? When black folks were creating it, rock 'n' roll was deamed "race music", "nigger music" and "jungle music". But Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis, Buddy Holly, Pat Boone, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Metallica, Aerosmith and friends come along co-opting it and suddenly, rock 'n' roll is white and acceptable. Remember house music before multiculturalism got hold of it? It was black soulful dance music from Detroit and Chicago. Multiculturalism shows up and suddenly house music becomes "techno" and "drum 'n' bass" and very, very white.

If a Japanese kid, a German kid or a White American kid wants to ignore their heritage to go on cultural safari, that's on them. At least they have the comfort of knowing their culture is still in tact. And when little Samantha Suburbs gets bored with having sex with black guys from the 'hood, she'll settle down and go mainstream. When Trevor Mainstream is ready for a career, he'll pull up his pants, lose the backwards baseball cap and go back to his roots, too. Meanwhile their safari jumping "let's go multiculti" leanings are destroying our cultures.

You can't go to Japan and tell Japanese people what their culture is or what it should be. You can't go to Russia or France or Italy and dictate their culture to them. Can't do it to the British, the Irish or the Spanish or the Greeks. Yet, when it comes to the African Diaspora; from America to the islands to the motherland, everyone else wants to dictate blackness to us, participate in blackness and profit from blackness all in the name of multiculturalism.

But black folks don't have the luxury of playing the multiculti game. We have spent the last 500 years piecing together our identity and heritage. We've been fighting a storm of lies, half-truths and disinformation about what we are, where we're from, what we've done and where we're going. Now, on top of all of this we're supposed to let everyone else co-opt our flavor in the name of unity?

But I can't front. I believe in true multiculturalism — it's a beautiful thing. But what's going on in America is not multiculturalism. Multiculturalism only exists when the cultures that come together are on equal footing. If one culture is respected less, seen as a product/commodity for the rest to control, or viewed as a marketing tool for selling chicken, sneakers, cars and CDs, then it's not multiculturalism — it's cultural colonization. It feels to me like black culture is only accepted when non-blacks get to define it, control it and profit from it.

Multiculturalism seems to be liberal code for "Black culture belongs to us now and we'll define it and use it as we see fit". Culture is the soul of a people. And when you control a people's soul, you control those people. They enslaved us once before. If we're not careful, multiculturalism will be the next set of shackles they throw on us.

Random Shit!

Yo, I love the NBA. Nah, I love the fundamental skills and creative artistry that the NBA gives us a platform to witness. The NBA is nothing more than another extention of corporate bullshit. Anyone heard about the new NBA dress code? NBA officials claim that they are trying to prevent situations such as the infamous brawl in Detroit last year. Whatever! Yall, some real bitchmade mofos now. They are banning things such as doo rags, throwback jerseys, sandles and the such. Pretty much any image that is dealing with hip hop.

Now, I understand that hip hop is certainly not what it is today. As Brother Tres Omi noted, hip hop can be one of two things; detrimental or educational. What the masses receive most often is the detrimental. On top of that, the masses aren't usually adept to the skilled art of "diggin in the crates"; which is simply scouring the underground scene beyond the commercial bullshit to find that real shit.

Anyway, the issue is major. I don't give a fuck for real. I don't get money from the league and none of them cats support my family. However, this issue is about defamation of image. Just as the movies can vilify and make evil the
FATHER OF MEDICINE or just as the media can make you think that folks were actually shooting at rescue helicopters when they were only tryin to get their attention. How they gonna make you think that a man's clothes causes mayhem. They are talkin bout the players need to look more like the people who buy tickets. Bullshit! They are mad because the children of those ticket buyers continue to grasp black culture. Iverson said, "A criminal can wear a suit, but he's still a criminal!" Basically, what he's saying is that the biggest thugs, gangsters, and criminals the world has ever seen have worn suits. And I applaud him for being up front. See, they hate him anyway. After Jordan revolutionized NBA shorts from daisy dukes to below the knee; Iverson made cornrows and tattoos a household image. Now they are trying to eradicate these things.

THIS IS A SUBLIMINAL TAKING AWAY OF FREEDOMS.

One might not see this as a serious issue. Some might say, "its no thing to wear business casual at a press conference. " But the issue, is about FREEDOM. The fact that all this shit is circulating in the media has the average mind unable to FREE their DOME. After all, that is what freedom is. SILENT WEAPONRY FOR QUIET WARS is the way of the world right now.

Another topic that needs to be touched is HAARP. Keep in mind that although I study many things, I subscribe to none; look past the site and just take in the info...dayum. This is the child of the Star Wars program of the eighties. If the world is catching the wrath of God, then why in the hell are the poor, colored and disenfranchized catching the brink ....ALL AROUND THE WORLD. The reason is HAARP. You didn't know that man has harnessed the ability to affect weather and cause natural disasters did you? Now you know what the star wars program was about.

Here is a quote for you "Any man who prescribes the diameter of your knowledge controls the circumference of your activity" Hon. Elijah Mohammed

Keep shinin and stop hatin on each other...Paaaayce

Saturday was a great day

Who saw Wyclef's performance?

Who saw Erykah speak her piece?

Of course, they were not the main highlights but the young generation represented.

My former blog was deleted in honor and observance of Saturday, which marked the anniversary of a day that changed my life.
